If you live in New York, Philadelphia, or New Jersey, you’ve likely considered taking a trip to Atlantic City, NJ. And if you’ve ever researched where to stay, chances are you’ve come across Ocean Casino Resort, one of the top-rated luxury resorts in the area.

This five-star resort features three pools, over 15 on-site restaurants, a sprawling casino, and an impressive lineup at Ovation Hall. It’s located right on the beach and connected to the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk, offering something for every type of traveler.

My husband and I escaped to Ocean Casino Resort for a relaxing two-night stay, and it was everything we needed. Here are some of our favorite things to do and tips for making the most of your visit.

Relax and Recharge at the Pools

One of the highlights of our stay was spending time at the pools.

Eclipse Pool

This pool offers both indoor and outdoor sections, with a waterfall feature inside and a pass-through area to easily move between the two. We grabbed chairs outside and enjoyed frozen cocktails under the sun.

Boardwalk Pool (HQ2 Beachclub on Weekends)

Located right on the boardwalk, this adults-only pool is a bit quieter during the day, making it perfect if you’re looking to avoid the crowd or take a break from family-friendly areas. On weekends, it turns into a lively beach club with DJs and events.

Dining at Ocean Casino Resort

There’s no shortage of great food on-site, and we made it a point to try several of the options.

  • Zhen Bang Noodle & Sushi: We had a late dinner here after arriving and loved the sushi, dumplings, and noodle dishes.
  • Harpers: A satisfying breakfast that kept us full well into the afternoon.
  • Ocean Steak: Great for a refined happy hour or date night.
  • Wahlburgers: A great casual pick if you’re in the mood for comfort food. I loved the tater tots!
  • Villain & Saint: We stopped here for breakfast before checking out and lucked out with $5 Bloody Marys on Friday!

Pro Tip: Many restaurants offer daily specials and late-night menus, so check for deals when you arrive.

Enjoy the Beach and Boardwalk

One of the best things about Ocean Casino Resort is the location, just steps from the beach and right on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

We spent time relaxing on the beach, which was clean and calm enough for swimming. Walking the boardwalk is also a must, with plenty of ice cream and snack shops, arcades and boardwalk games, as well as local boutiques and attractions to explore.

Ride the Ferris Wheel at Sunset

The Steel Pier Ferris Wheel was the highlight of our trip. We went at sunset and were rewarded with panoramic views of the ocean and the Atlantic City skyline. It’s a beautiful and romantic way to see the city.

Other Things to Know About Ocean Casino Resort

The Casino: The casino is huge, with rows and rows of slots, lively energy, and plenty of opportunities to get lucky (or just zone out and have fun). Whether you’re a seasoned player or just curious, it’s easy to get swept up in the experience.

Rooms: Our first night was in a smoking room on the 5th floor, but we were able to move to a non-smoking room on the 38th floor the next day. I highly recommend requesting a higher floor for the view. I did miss having in-room coffee or amenities like robes and slippers, which I expected from a five-star stay.

The Atmosphere: The resort feels modern, clean, and upscale. We especially loved sitting by the fire pits at sunset with the ocean as our backdrop.

Final Thoughts: A Relaxing Escape at Ocean Casino Resort

Whether you’re planning a couple’s retreat, a solo escape, or a family vacation, Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City has something for everyone. With luxury amenities, great food, beach access, and endless entertainment, it’s an easy and exciting getaway just a short drive from NYC or Philly.

We’re already planning a return trip. There’s still so much more to try and explore!
