Looking for the best all-inclusive resorts in Mexico that offer great food, amazing amenities, and stunning scenery? As someone who grew up in Southern California and frequently visited Mexico, I’ve experienced both the good and not-so-good when it comes to all-inclusive properties. The key to a great experience? Choosing the right resort – one where the food is worth savoring, the drinks are actually good, and you’re not hit with extra costs for the basics.

To save you the trial and error, here are three of my favorite all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, each offering something unique whether you’re surfing with kids, escaping for a babymoon, or indulging in a romantic getaway.

Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa (Near Puerto Vallarta)

Best For: Families, surfers, and nature lovers

Located just outside Puerto Vallarta, Grand Palladium Vallarta is a family-friendly, beachfront resort that’s become one of my favorite places to stay, especially with kids. We originally discovered it while searching for surf spots, and it quickly became a go-to destination thanks to its beginner-friendly surf break, kid-approved amenities, and lush tropical setting.

I have stayed in the family portion of the hotel with access to a secluded pool and restaurant, as well as the regular part of the resort. This hotel is very kid friendly with a few small waterslides, some onsite animals, infinity pools, and alcohol is included. Besides from being really easy to lug my kids around, my favorite thing about this hotel is the beach it is on. Often times I do not spend much time at the beach, but this hotel has a beach that is secluded and very easy to go back and forth from the main hotel.

Highlights:

  • Incredible surf right outside the resort 🏄‍♀️
  • Separate family area with secluded pool & dining
  • Onsite animals: monkeys, ostriches, and peacocks 🦚
  • Three pools, five restaurants, spa, and swim-up bars
  • Easy beach access and tons of shaded seating
  • Complimentary kayaks and snorkeling

We spent 10 days here for my birthday and never felt the need to leave the property. But if you do want to explore, Sayulita is a charming surf town nearby and well worth the trip.

Secrets The Vine (Cancun)

Best For: Babymoons, romantic getaways, and adult-only luxury

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with high-end food and no kids in sight, Secrets The Vine Cancun is a dream. I chose this adults-only, all-inclusive resort for my second babymoon and it exceeded every expectation.

Highlights:

  • Ocean and bay views from nearly every room 🌅
  • Access to private pools for upgraded rooms
  • Seven restaurants, three pools, many bars and lounges to relax and listen to live music, and spa
  • Premium food & drink, including steak, seafood & room service
  • Beachfront location with turquoise Caribbean waters

Whether you’re enjoying a quiet breakfast or lounging at the pool with mocktails or cocktails, this resort combines luxury and relaxation in one unforgettable experience.

Riu Palace (Cabo San Lucas)

Best For: Affordable luxury, couples, and first-time all-inclusive travelers

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas is a classic all-inclusive in Baja California, just a short flight from many U.S. cities. It holds a special place in my heart as my first vacation with my husband, and while I don’t have many pictures left from that trip, the memories are vivid.

Highlights:

  • Gorgeous colonial-style architecture 🏰
  • Two large pools, swim-up bars, and ocean views
  • All rooms include in-room alcohol dispensers 🍹
  • Several onsite restaurants, including Japanese cuisine and delicious Mexican food at the buffet
  • Easy access to downtown Cabo and marina

Swimming at the beach is limited due to waves, but the pools and nearby harbor walks more than make up for it.

Final Thoughts: Picking the Right All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico

Whether you’re looking for surfing with kids, a babymoon escape, or a romantic adults-only retreat, there’s an all-inclusive resort in Mexico perfect for you. Just be sure to:

  • Read reviews before booking (quality varies a lot!)
  • Check the restaurant options and make reservations in advance
  • Look for properties that match your vibe – family-friendly, romantic, adventurous, etc.

And if you love Mexican food, sunny beaches, and sipping cocktails poolside, you’re already halfway to the perfect vacation.
